6 Sept Juneau

We were all up early this morning hoping to spot the whales that were supposed to be visible in Stephens Passsge.
Was very cold and windy up on deck

There were whales visible but because they aren’t breaching it was too hard to capture any decent photos
Pretty scenery though.

Started to see ice and snow on the mountains

Lynne decided to go on the Tracy Arm Inlet excursion

On the St Peters boat that we heard about at the talk we went to yesterday

She would have gone close past some ice bergs that had broken off

The rest of us watched our ship travel through the channel to Juneau, where we watched it moor close to the other ships in the Harbour.

After we had had a bite to eat we were able to go ashore. We went our separate ways as we had booked on different excursions.
We had just enough time to walk down to the Marine Patk where there was free wifi and post the Facebook post that I had prepared earlier and the blog posts that I had also prepared earlier. Downloaded some emails, but an issue with some and no time to sort it out.
It was soon time to head off for our ‘5 glacier sea plane excursion’ and wow what an experience. Hard to decide on the best photos to post. Magnificent massive glaciers and mountainous scenery.

On returning to the Harbour we walked along the Seawalk to the whale sculpture,

Then back through Marine Park where there were pretty flower baskets and this sculpture

Next adventure for us was to go up in the cable car to Mt Roberts

Bumped into Lynne along the way so she came up with us

Where there were fantastic views down to the Harbour and our ship
When we reached the top we watched a movie first about the native Tlingit people.
Then went on the nature trail

Beautiful walk through the forest

With amazing views

And a chance to see the sunsetting at Father Browns Cross

We were treated with the lights of the town

And the lights on the ship

Delicious drinks in the Dining room when back on board. Then bed. An amazing elephant welcomed us to our cabin this time.
